Kyo can be known to be a pretty moody person but he also has a carefree side and likes to joke around. He likes video games, sleeping, anime and terrorizing people. Kyo has a thing with lying during interviews and so one can hardly ever tell if what he says is true or not. He likes to sleep a lot and can fall asleep just about anywhere. Even fell asleep in the middle of an interview. His stage personality is infatuated with blood and gore so it's no surprise his listed favorite foods would include fried scorpions and pens. When shopping he prefers to get LDSoft or Gamesoft Games and old, traditional clothes. He likes to collect Doraemon and Warumono figures while his favorite sport is "terrorizing the others". Something important to know is never to call this guy cute. He likes to present himself as an evil person, even giving himself the nickname Warumono after one of his favorite comic book characters. In early 2000 he was hospitalized because of an Acute Acoustic Trauma, which involves being bombarded by a loud sound in a relatively small space and has since then been partially deaf in his left ear. As a vocalist Kyo is quite unique. Amazing, some would say. He has such an eccentric voice. Powerful; varying from singing to screaming to choking and laughing. Sometimes it's hard to tell whether he's moaning in mock orgasm or ready to vomit. He puts all he has behind putting on a show for the crowd. He runs around the stage, thrashing while also physically abusing himself: often times scratching his chest, arms and face or punching himself. This is the Kyo all have come to know and even worship. As a lyricist he has been considered a genius by some, giving beauty to that which is obscure. He has never written a happy song in his life and doesn't plan to anytime soon. He writes all lyrics for the songs Dir en grey performs and when constructing these stories prefers to "remove the bare-bones and main points to leave a complex piece". Often he has been judged as grotesque and disgusting for his choice of subjects in his songs. Subjects that often consist of paraphillia, rape, violence, sex and even abortion. Recently, though, it is believed he is unable to reach notes as high or hold them as long as he used to: the cause believed to being due to years of abuse and heavy chainsmoking. He is not only a vocalist and lyricist but he has released two poem books. Like his lyrics, his poems can also be quite...obscure. Flowers, Religion, parents, colors, suicide and sex are usually topics which he focuses on. Some poems are even continued from the first book to the second and also focus a good deal on tradition that foreign readers would find complicated to grasp. Along with these books came CDs featuring songs written and sung by Kyo. Not only has he done this but he also designed ties and other such clothes under the BA-TSU and ID-JAPAN labels. Has modeled these clothes along with the clothes of other labels during lives and for magazines. He has also composed the music to a few of the songs like The Domestic Fucker Family, 「S」 and Hades. There are many rumors about the man and the mystery that surrounds him. Rumors that vary from him supposedly having been hit on the head with a fire extinquisher by a friend to him nicknaming his own penis 'PP'. All of these rumors have no confirmation backing them so it's unknown if they are true or not due to his - as stated before - habit of lying in interviews. He loves to encourage answers so extreme that they're hard to believe but people have grown to love this about him just as they have grown to love his abilities as a vocalist and a writer. Despite this front he likes to put on for the audience to enjoy he seems to be quite a stable person save the random moments of moodiness and a habit of being outspoken and opinionated.
