Who is Daisuke Andou ( Andō )? He is Die ( pronounced as 'Dai', not 'di-eh' ). He is guitarist. He is the second eldest. He is the most playful. He also loves to make people laugh. Who did he used to play for? He used to play for kaֹzaֹri and La:Sadie's. Who does he play for now? Dir en grey. He not only plays the rhythm or acoustic for the band but he did some of the back-up vocals in older songs such as ASH and -ZAN-, his voice soft but definitive. He also composed music for Dir en grey, and this can be heard in the likes of Schwein no isu; 304 Goushitsu, Hakushi no Sakura; Yokan; Ryuu; Audrey; 24ko Cylinders; Undecided; mr. NEWSMAN; Childern and ASH. When asked how he sees himself he uses such words as hard-working and sincere. But he can also be very impudent as he just loves to tease people.

One person he loves to tease in particular is the band's demure drummer Shinya. Why? Possibly because of Shinya's nature ( he hardly ever talks and his appearance is almost delicate ). Or maybe it's due to his being the youngest of them all. There was also rumor that he thought the the drummer was truly a female when they first met and developed a crush upon him. He isn't alone in his teasing, though, as Kaoru also seems to like to pick on Shinya. When they put on live shows Die acts like your typical guitarist, usually strutting around stage to get the audience pumped up or he'll stand beside Kyo while the other sings. When the band first started out, they were considered Visual Kei Die was quite extreme with his appearance. The "tough" rocker clad in leather and silver accessories, his make-up focusing around his eyes mostly but never as daub-like as Kyo's. His hair was also extreme; usually defying gravity and a bright red in color. Though Dir en grey's Visual Kei days are long over and Die has stopped dressing to extremes, he can still be quite hardcore ( though he really is a soft-hearted, straightforward and caring person ).
